A recent NEEM project, supported in part by Past4Future, reveals that in spite of a climate 8°C warmer than that of the past millennium, the thickness of the Greenland ice sheet decreased by only a few hundred metres. The article was published in Nature.
PAGES news vol. 20 (2): Japanese Paleoscience
This newsletter features a cross-section of Japanese contributions to paleoscience. Both new technologies and studies of historical documents are feeding into current research projects in the country. The newsletter also highlights recently held meetings, program news, and coming events.
LOTRED-SA: The Special Issue collates original research papers and reviews on paleoclimatic studies in southern South America over the past few millennia. Papers address the potential of different proxies for paleoclimatic reconstruction, present new datasets, and analyze regional features of model simulations.
A digitial copy of the OSM abstract book is available for download. It contains talk and poster abstracts, speaker bios, and a complete program of events.
