2k Network data
Phase 2 global data collection effort
Anyone with an interest in and knowledge of climate change during the past two millennia is welcome to join the community-wide effort to update and publish the next generation database of temperature-sensitive proxy climate records of the last two millennia. Read more about the plan for achieving this goal, including the guidelines for authorship and the timeline, here.

All of the included data meet the new 2k global selection criteria outlined below. To submit a new record please read the information below or contact your regional Data Manager.
Phase 2 data collection strategy
The first step of the current Phase 2 of the PAGES 2k project is to complete the data compilations for each region. Both temperature and moisture records are now being collected. To optimize the data collection effort, we suggest that all regional groups apply the following procedure:
1) Apply selection criteria
Apply the 2k Network selection criteria for proxy records > read
2) Submission to your regional data manager
The records should be submitted using the following Excel files and include as much metadata as possible (one file per record) > template
Here is an example showing how the metadata should be filled: > Moose Lake example
We are using the NOAA submission template because it contains all the needed metadata entries, can easily read by computers, and is already in the right format for the eventual submission to NOAA's public data archive; but data can also be submitted in a different format if necessary – please contact your data manager.
All the submitted data are first collected and used internally by the 2k Network, and publicly published only once a paper is submitted.
