Postdoc Research Fellowships, urban societies - Aarhus, Denmark

The Centre for Urban Network Evolutions (UrbNet) at Aarhus University, Denmark, is looking to recruit a number of postdoctoral researchers to work on projects within the centre's research agenda.

Logistics

The positions are for one year with the possibility to extend for a further year, beginning in February 2021.

Description

The postdocs will contribute to joint centre projects on urban societies and their networks.

Fields of research include:

1. Environmental change and landscape management from Antiquity to the Middle Ages
2. The relationship between urban centres, landscape use and settlement history in Mesopotamia, the Near East and Central Italy from Antiquity to the Middle Ages, and
3. The geoarchaeology of urban stratigraphies.

The projects should pertain to the archaeology and history of the Indian Ocean World, the Near East, the Mediterranean or Northern Europe from the 3rd century BCE until medieval times.
