Expertise & Interests

Overview / specialty        Marc Oliva is research scientist at the IGOT-CEG of the University of Lisbon. During the last years he has coordinated several research projects (through public and private funding) in Antarctica focused on present and past geomorphological processes and climate variability. He has also conducted research in other cold-climate environments, such as mid-latitude high mountain ranges (Sierra Nevada, Pyrenees, Cantabrian Mountains, Alps, Rocky Mountains, Patagonia) and the Arctic (Svalbard). This field experience has provided him a wide comprehension of Earth surface processes and interactions among the different land systems in cold-climate environments.
