Mendrisio, Switzerland
Dates
-

The Institute of Earth Sciences of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) and the Platform Geosciences of the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT) are hosting the 21st edition of the Swiss Geoscience Meeting to be held on Friday, 17 November and Saturday, 18 November, 2023 in Mendrisio, Switzerland

Preliminary program

- Friday 17 November:
In the afternoon, a series of Invited keynote lectures will be held on this year’s Plenary Session topic: “New horizons in regional geosciences”,
In the morning, from 11:30 to 13:20, a workshop on Fieldwork accessibility and inclusivity will be organised by GEODES (Geoscience Diversity and Equality Switzerland)

- Saturday 18 November:
26 scientific symposia (see below) will cover the diverse spectrum of current research in geosciences, encompassing the lithosphere, the hydrosphere, the cryosphere, the biosphere, the atmosphere and the anthroposphere.

- Sunday 19 November:
An excursion to the UNESCO World Heritage site and fossils museum of Monte San Giorgio will be proposed to interested participants.
