The major aim of the International Paleolimnology Association (IPA) is promotion and advancement of the science of paleolimnology and its applications. The International Paleolimnology Symposium constitutes an important activity of the Association, as it provides a forum for the presentation and discussion of research in every area of paleolimnology.
