The Symposium Water Management in Transition Countries as Impacted by Climate and Other Global Changes, Lessons from Paleoclimate, and Regional Issues will be held under the auspices of the Serbian Government, the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and UNESCO.

The intent is to use the outcomes of this Symposium to define program areas for World Water Forum 7 in Daegu, Korea. The Symposium is comprised of two separate conferences: (1) Water Management in Transition Countries and (2) Past Climate: A Lesson for the Future. Regional Climate Change Aspects.

UNESCO Category II Center: Water for Sustainable Development and Adaptation to Climate Change (WSDAC) and Jaroslav Černi Institute for the Development of Water Resources will coordinate the first conference, and the Board for the Earth Climate System and the Opus of Milutin Milankovitch of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts will coordinate the second conference.

The Serbian Water Pollution Control Society and the Milutin Milankovitch Association will support the organization of the Symposium. Keynote presentations will be made at a plenary session on the first day, and the two Conferences will be addressed during the next two days of the Symposium.

Call for papers

Authors may submit 2-4 page abstracts in a standard format. For guidelines on formatting and finding other information about the Symposium, visit our web site. Submissions should demonstrate advance in knowledge on the Symposium topics. At least one author for each selected paper must register and attend the Symposium to present the paper. Authors will be notified of acceptance by 11 April 2014, and full papers should be submitted by 30 June 2014. Full papers should be in Microsoft Word format, no more than 8 A4 pages. Papers will be published in the Proceedings before the Symposium.
