The Surface Ocean–Lower Atmosphere Study (SOLAS) is an international and interdisciplinary research initiative. Its goal is to achieve a quantitative understanding of the key biogeochemical-physical interactions and feedbacks between the ocean and the atmosphere. It also strives to understand how the air-sea system affects and is affected by climate and environmental change.

The Open Science Conference is the ideal venue for scientists who wish:
- to learn about current research in the field of air-sea interactions and processes,
- to develop future research collaboration,
- to share their knowledge and to present their own findings by displaying a poster or giving an oral presentation.

We are looking forward to welcoming you in Kiel, a lively harbor city celebrating in 2015 the 350th anniversary of its university!
