Connections in the Climate System

Abstract deadline: 30 Sept 2011

The guiding theme for Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (AMOS) 2012 is Connections in the Climate System. The conference will focus on connections between physical components of the system, time scales, spatial scales as well as biophysical and socio-economic systems.

Main Themes

- Connections between physical components of the system (Atmosphere - Ocean - Land - Cryosphere)

- Connections between time scales (weather to climate to paleoclimate)

- Spatial connections (e.g. modes of variability, teleconnections)Connections between the biophysical and socio-economic systems (e.g. impacts of extreme events and/or climate change)
