It's time to celebrate PMIP's 30th anniversary!
The Paleoclimate Modelling Intercomparison Project (PMIP) began in the early 1990s to provide an efficient mechanism for coordinating paleoclimate modelling activities. The key aims of the project are to:
- Understand the mechanisms of climate change
- Identify the different climatic factors that shape our environment
- Evaluate the capability of state-of-the-art models to reproduce different climates
Venue
The Cloud (online meeting)
Dates
Start: 2 December 2021, 09:00 UTC
End: 3 December 2021, 15:00 UTC
The schedule will be available on the anniversary website.
This will be a round-the-world marathon lasting for 30 hours, with your help and participation!
Description
Different sessions will be proposed (PMIP history and achievements, different PMIP themes, new questions, etc.), including both short presentations and discussions. There will be plenty of one to two-hour-long sessions on a wide range of topics. They will include presentations of key results and testimonies, discussions, and surprises. We would also like to take the opportunity of this conference to collect material to complete PMIP’s history from multiple points of views and to discuss its future directions.
Everyone is welcome to contribute and help us to make this event a success.
