1st International OnSea Workshop
Coastlines in a changing world: Seascape evolution during the Late Quaternary

Date: 11–12 October
Location: Montpellier, France

The 1st OnSea (EvolutiOn of SEAscapes) workshop aims at creating a forum regarding a range of thematic topics related to environmental changes of coastal areas and their relation with anthropogenic activities such as:

• Paleo-environmental reconstruction of coastal areas;
• Coastal geoarchaeology;
• Records of sea-level changes and paleo sea-level studies;
• Adaptation of coastal communities to climate and coastal changes;
• Use of new technologies in coastal studies;
• Interdisciplinary collaboration in coastal research.

We are planning 20 oral presentations (12 minutes + 3 minutes Q&A) and a Poster session as well as group activities over the two days.

As one of OnSea’s scopes is to support the early-career members of its interdisciplinary Community, ECRs and PhD students are strongly invited to apply for a GRANT. The INQUA GRANTS are finalized to cover travel, accommodation, and subsistence of participants. Grants will be assigned by the scientific committee as follows:
• Nr. 5 grants (max 280 EUR/each) for PhDs and ECRs coming from France;
• Nr. 6 grants (max 400 EUR/each) for PhDs and ECRs coming from Europe and Developing Countries.
Any remaining funds will be used to finance further parOcipants. All grant applicants must submit an abstract and their CV via email (see Call for abstracts).
