Objectives
The main objectives of this workshop are:
1) to provide a 2000 year temperature reconstruction for Antarctica including both low (decadal scale) and high-resolution (annual scale) records coming mainly from ice cores but possibly including other types of available terrestrial records;
2) to plan a 2000 year snow accumulation rate reconstruction for Antarctica at decadal scale;
Meeting format
All participants at the workshop will be expected to contribute to the Antarctica2k objectives by sharing and compiling data, by providing synthesis products or by comparing model simulations with available data.
The outcomes of the workshop will be the publication of two community papers, one on temperature reconstruction and the other on past snow accumulation rate reconstruction over the past two millennia. The first day of the workshop will be devoted to oral presentations on both subjects while the second day will be devoted to few oral presentations, as well as discussion and planning of the two papers. Some space for poster presentation is foreseen.
Please, keep in mind these objectives when preparing your contributions (oral, poster or some slides for discussion).
The programme (as 24th August 2015) can be downloaded here.
The logistic/practical information will be directly sent to the participants.
