Final OC3 meeting: New knowledge and more questions about the ocean during the last deglaciation

The final meeting of PAGES' Ocean Circulation and Carbon Cycling (OC3) working group will be held after the AGU Fall Meeting in San Francisco, USA, on 14 December 2019 from 9:00 to 16:00.

The title of the meeting is "New knowledge and more questions about the ocean during the last deglaciation."

Description

The PAGES OC3 group was established in 2014 to compile benthic stable carbon isotope data in order to gain a better understanding of the deep ocean circulation and its connection to the CO₂ degassing during the last deglaciation. Five years of research, new collaborations, and three meetings led us down an interesting path, including the discussion of age-model approaches, data quality checks, as well as proxy-modeling studies, culminating in a consistently dated δ¹³C compilation.

Now it is time to wrap up. We would like to look back on what worked and what didn’t work, what was accomplished on our way, to report recent results, discuss future analyses of the datasets and plan/write manuscripts. But we also want to look forward and discuss opportunities for follow-up projects and plans for the future. Hereby, we ask for your contributions to this one-day workshop. Related topics may include age-model development, data compilation/analysis, and ocean modeling on ocean-basin to global scales.
