The workshop topic is: Implications of Paleoclimatic and Sea Level Changes on Coastal Evolution: Are Humans Adapting?
This project is aimed at bringing together scientists in the field of paleoclimatic studies from the West African sub-region to contribute to share knowledge, discuss results, compare published data, and to produce a document on the current state of knowledge in the Sub-region on shoreline evolution and climatic forces.
The 3rd WAQUA workshop will help bring scientists together to identify specific areas where knowledge and data is critically lacking and to forge a way forward in addressing data requirements using state-of-the-art facilities. The project will provide a platform for synthesizing results from the Sub-region and also provide a solid base for future interpretation and modeling of paleoclimatic data and shoreline changes.
