The International Conference on Holocene Climate Change (ICHCC) will be held from 6-8 February 2018 in Taipei, Taiwan.
Venue
Academia Sinica
Humanities and Social Sciences Building
128號(人文館), Section 2, Academia Rd
Nangang District, Taipei City, 115
Description
The conference aims to summarize recent findings and explore new directions on the Holocene climate change research to enhance understanding on high-low frequency climate fluctuations and climate responses across different parts of the globe as well as the interactions between climate impacts on human societies during this period.
Goals
Our focal goal is to examine the development of proxy records and isotopic data and the progression in the integration of the databases for constructing more robust high-resolution climatic data sets and to expand data coverage in climate reconstruction. Substantive climatic or environmental events such as volcanic eruptions, typhoons (hurricanes), floods, drought, or significant phonological events (such as locust infestation) will be highlighted. Numerical modeling results and long-term climate fluctuations will be on the agenda as well.
The ultimate goal of the conference is to bring together the Holocene climate studies in Asia and the world, and to stimulate research partnership among international research teams for enhanced collaboration in the future.
Abstracts
Abstracts are welcome, especially on the themes of:
- Climate change in (late) Holocene
- Paleo-hydroclimate and extreme events
- Data merging, reconstruction methods and modeling
- Climate change and human societal evolution
All abstracts must be written in English (limited to 500 words). Please submit abstracts via http://bit.ly/submit-ICHCC2018
The abstract submission deadline is 29 December 2017.
