Springer celebrates this year the 10th anniversary of the Arabian Journal of Geosciences (AJGS). On this occasion, a conference will be organized in collaboration with the journal’s team.

Description
The conference will be an occasion to endorse the journal’s long-held reputation for attracting many important studies from the Middle East, Euro-Mediterranean, Africa, Asia and other parts of the world. Over four days, the conference will provide attendees a stimulating environment in Tunisia with opportunities to share their latest unpublished findings and learn the newest studies. The event will also allow the journal’s authors to meet and discuss with the editors and reviewers.
Call for Papers
The Conference Scientific Committee, led by Prof. François Roure (IFP – Energies Nouvelles, France) and Prof. Walter D. Mooney (US Geological Survey Western Region, USA), invites research papers on all cross-cutting themes of Earth sciences, principally focusing on the following 10 conference tracks:
Track 1. Climate, paleoclimate and paleoenvironmental changes
Track 2. Geo-informatics, remote sensing, geodesy
Track 3. Geoenvironmental engineering, geomechanics and geotechnics, geohazards
Track 4. Geography, geoecology, geoarcheology, geotourism
Track 5. Geophysics, seismology
Track 6. Hydrology, hydrogeology, hydrochemistry
Track 7. Mineralogy, geochemistry, petrology and volcanology
Track 8. Petroleum engineering and petroleum geochemistry
Track 9. Sedimentology, stratigraphy, paleontology, geomorphology, pedology
Track 10. Structural / petroleum / Mining geology, geodynamics, marine geology
Conference Proceedings
All accepted short papers after a pre-conference peer-review process will be published in the conference proceedings by Springer. The proceedings will be published in 10 volumes edited by some international experts (see Publications).
Special Issues
The aim of the conference is to publish after the conference a set of high-quality topical collections (special issues) on cross-cutting themes of Earth sciences in the Arabian Journal of Geosciences (AJGS). Authors of the selected papers will be invited after the conference to submit an extended version of their conference papers in the AJGS.
Also, authors of some excellent papers will be invited after the conference to submit an extended version in the following Springer journals:

Awards
The Conference Scientific Committee will provide awards for the best paper from each conference track. The award consists of a “Springer Award for Outstanding Paper” and a gift voucher for the amount of 300 Euros which can be used to purchase Springer books. All winners will be presented with a commemorative certificate and will be acknowledged during the awards luncheon.

Venue & Accommodation
The conference will be held from 12-15 November 2018 at The Russelior Hotel & Spa (5* hotel) located on the waterfront of Yasmine Hammamet in the north-eastern touristic coast of Tunisia. The registration fee will cover all the conference materials and stay in the hotel during 3 nights / 4 days including 3 meals / 2 coffee breaks per day.
