CLIVASH2k was awarded a Data Stewardship Scholarship in May 2021.

Goal

In 2020 CLIVASH2k started to compile all ice-core sodium (Na) and sulphate (SO₄^2-) records, from both published and unpublished sources. The data will be quality checked and compiled in LiPD format. The records also need to be put on a uniform age scale and correctly labelled and sorted based on the analysis method and region.

Final products

Several data publications are expected in the short term. In the long-term, the data will be incorporated into chemical enabled climate models (e.g TOMCAT) to provide realistic boundary conditions for past and future model simulations.
