Euro-Med2k scientific goals

Euro-Med2k's goals included:

1. To compile annual- and lower resolution proxy records covering the past 2k in Europe and the Mediterranean.

2. To work towards creating mean and spatial reconstructions using sophisticated methods (e.g. Bayesian statistics).

3. Obtain a dynamical understanding of past and present European/Mediterranean climate variations.

4. Employ data-model comparison.

5. Engage in data assimilation exercises.

6. To build connections to other 2k regional networks and work together to reconstruct Northern Hemisphere and global climates back to 0 CE.
