This meeting will enable a review of current knowledge and available data covering the past 2k, discussion of proxy data interpretation and the development of the EURO-MED 2k groups action plan. The long-term goal is to set up and plan the next steps in working towards a comprehensive view of regional to continental climate variability and environmental change during the past 2k, and to produce a gridded data set of climate variables from high-resolution multi-proxy time series.
The meeting will also link with the ARCTIC 2k, AFRICA 2k and N-AMERICA 2k groups and will profit from the 2k methodological workshop organized in mid-November in Lamont. The content of the chapter, its final outline and the definition of coauthorship will also be discussed.
