ACME, C-PEAT, CRIAS, Q-MARE, QUIGS and VICS workshop deadlines

There are a number of PAGES working group deadlines coming up for planned workshops. 


As a wrap up to Phase 1, the ACME (Arctic Cryosphere Change and Coastal Marine Ecosystems) working group will be hosting an open workshop on "Best practices and data quality challenges for coastal marine proxies in the Arctic" as a pre-conference workshop (4 hours) on 12 July at the XXI INQUA 2023 Congress, Roma, Italy. The deadline to register for all INQUA workshops is 20 February.

The C-PEAT (Carbon in Peat on Earth through Time) working group will be hosting a hybrid meeting on "Recent carbon accumulation: peatland processes and ecosystem services" from 8-12 May with three hubs in Indonesia (Pontianak, West Kalimantan Province), Poland (Adam Mickiewicz University), USA (Houston, Texas A&M University). The three hybrid hubs will work face-to-face in different time zones, but come together too at specific times.

The CRIAS (Climate Reconstruction and Impacts from the Archives of Societies) working group will be hosting a workshop on "Climate and Conflict Revisited: Perspectives from the past and the present" from 11-12 May in Oslo, Norway. The call for abstracts will open on 1 March. The call for papers is now open, and the group invites everyone interested to please contribute.

The next Q-MARE (Disentangling climate and pre-industrial human impacts on marine ecosystem) workshop on "Geohistorical perspectives on functional connectivity patterns" will take place in Sesimbra, Portugal on 25 Ma. Registration is now open, and free. The workshop will take place immediately after the symposium "Human Impact on Marine Functional Connectivity".

The QUIGS (PAGES-PMIP Working Group on Quaternary Interglacials) working group will be hosting its last worksop from 29-22 September in Grenoble, France on the intensity of past interglacials. The VICS (Volcanic Impacts on Climate and Society) working group will be hosting its 5th workshop on "Moving forward by looking back" from 22-24 May in Bern, Switzerland and online. Abstract submission has been extended until 22 February. The deadline for registration is 31 March.
