1. New PAGES PEOPLE 3000 working group

By integrating archaeological data, paleoecological data and dynamic modeling, PEOPLE 3000 aims to explain long-term patterns of growth in the consumption of energy in social-ecological systems and the tipping points of these systems within the contexts of changing climates and environments over the last 3000 years. This working group strengthens the human component of the PAGES Science Structure. Join the mailing list and read more: http://pastglobalchanges.org/ini/wg/people-3000/intro

6. IPCC Special Reports and Assessment Report

PAGES would like to remind the paleoscience community that the process of writing the IPCC Special Reports and Sixth Assessment Report has started.

1. Special Report on Global warming of 1.5°C (SR15): http://www.ipcc.ch/report/sr15/

An online registration process has been developed and is open for prospective expert reviewers via the IPCC web site. Registration closes 17 September 2017 midnight (GMT +1): https://www.ipcc.ch/apps/comments/sr15/fod/register.php

2. Special Report on the Ocean and Cryosphere in a Changing Climate (SROCC): PAGES 2k Network leader Nerilie Abram has been selected as a Coordinating Lead Author for this report. The first lead author meeting will be in October and the report will be delivered in late 2019: http://www.ipcc.ch/report/srocc/
